Sales recruitment: Women occupy high-status roles
Women are more likely to have high-status sales jobs compared to their male counterparts, although there is still a gulf between the amount of money each gender is paid, according to new research.
The University of Cambridge conducted the study, which could interest people searching for sales jobs.
Karen Gill, co-founder of everywoman, a provider of training and support services for women, said that there is much to be done in order to bring true equality to the work place.
She said: "Women should be encouraged to aspire to the very top of their career, but once there, they deserve to expect the same opportunities, recognition and remuneration as their male colleagues."
Employment specialists Experteer recently conducted a study of UK executives which found that although there are ten times fewer female managing directors than male, women are likely to get into senior positions quicker than men.
